He didn't shy away. If anything, he inched closer. Intent to heal the hurt, even if the woman with wings and a tail didn't want his help. "So many aches inside and out. Hate like hot coals. I'm a Cole too, but not the kind that fuels fires."

He stepped forward and held a little glass bottle of healing salve out to her. "It isn't much, but it will help."

She looked curiously at the messy blonde hair that spilled out of the large mages hat. Wincing at the pain, she roughly slid back down the rock and looked up into his sad eyes. "Cole is it?" she coughed. "Coals burn better than anything else you know. You remind me of a jackal hiding in the shadows waiting to pick at the creature snared in deaths trap. Almost like someone else I know." the sound of melancholy in her on voice made her sick to her stomach or maybe it was the fact she hadn't eaten for days.

She only glanced at the strange vial filled with glowing blue liquid for a second before reluctantly snatching it from his hand. "Why would a fool human such as yourself help a dragon" she asked softly before downing the liquid. She reached up to push up his hat so she could look at his face better.

"I can hide. A kind, quiet thing creeping in coalescing dark. I could have made you forget. Fleeting thoughts tumble, trip away. Tantalizing. You needed to see me. More than not."

So long as his hat stayed on his head, he didn't mind. Lots of people said things about his hat. Not many people tried to look at him. Their gazes shifted past him, around him. They would forget. Everyone was happier that way. He didn't need people to look into his eyes anymore. Those days were done.

"I helped because you're hurting, but if you hurt others, I will leave." It's less of a threat and more of a simple, off-handed comment. He plucked at the stray strands of thread that poked out from his sleeves.

She pushed his hat back and looked into his sad eyes. "Cole, I promise I do not hurt others until I view them as a threat and you, as far as I can tell, are no threat. You are unusually kind for a human." She felt the potion taking effect as her torn flesh wound itself back together. She braced herself before getting to her feet. She smiled at him, her fiery eyes blazed brightly due to the cloudy coastline.

"My name is Angelus. Dragons do not normally speak their names to mortals but you seem different. It is very nice to meet you Cole."She smiled. For the first time she looked around curiously. Nothing around her looked even slightly familiar. The pouring rain would have made it difficult for someone to see very far but being a dragon, Angelus didn't find it an issue.

"Cole, why do you speak so differently from most people I have heard?"

"Oh...Thank you! I'm happy I could meet you too. Dragons don't like to talk here. They only hurt. When their song pulls the Darkspawn, then they hurt more. Then people die. But you're song is different. Diffused. Like when the sky wanted to say something. Further than that." He looked down, folding his arms across his chest.

"I'm sorry, you asked me a question and I didn't answer," he gazes back at her- almost through her and hopes she'll be alright. "I am different. A demon...no, not that. A spirit. Caring. Kind. Quick to help when no one else can or cares to. I am Compassion." Cole wonders while idly rubbing his hands and pressing them against his sleeves (he feels the texture and remembers that he's also real, not just a spirit) if she could hear the feint echos of the song here where the other dragon had been. There wasn't much here now, nuzzled furthered back in the valley behind them. Remnants of a physical body, but otherwise dealt with in the only way nature deals with things.
